Abstract:
This report summarizes the findings of the Antarctic COVID-19 Project, which assessed the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Antarctic research community. Based on a global survey of researchers and support staff, the report explores the pandemic's effects on fieldwork, professional productivity, mental wellbeing, and structurally vulnerable groups such as women, caregivers, and early-career researchers. It also provides recommendations to the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) to mitigate these impacts and support the community through funding, collaboration, and equitable access to opportunities.
