Wind turbines on Marion Island

Abstract

A wind turbine on Marion Island used for generating electricity. Although it was a decade long project, it did not succeed as the winds were strong and often destroyed turbines. The local birds also got entangled in the turbine blades, which is why the turbines were later fenced.
