H.M.S. Neptune

Abstract

H.M.S Neptune of the Royal Navy went on a British expedition in search of World War II prisoners under the command of Rory C. O'Conner in October 1940. The Neptune sailed past Marion Island in 1944 and attempted to land, but to no avail. The first photographs of Marion Island, now lost, were taken from its decks.
