The Standing Committee on Humanities and Social Sciences(SCHASS) within the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) has many researchers that browse the archives and libraries all over the world that contain polar related information and specific Antarctic related information that are important for research within the humanities and social sciences. Previously researchers kept their own reference system of where they had find information to complete their research. Over the years many researchers have used the same information that they have individually discovered in archives, museums etc. Although a literary review is part of research, it may save time if researchers within the social sciences. This Collection within the Antarctic Legacy repository will allow researchers to submit these important access information to the repository for use by other researchers. This collection withi nthe repository complies with the ATS policy that : "Scientific observations and results from Antarctica shall be exchanged and made freely available.“
