Minute from the Prime Minister’s Office, Cape Town, 26 Feb. 1948, informing the Governor-General that an international Whaling Conference was held in Washington on 20 Nov. 1946 where a Convention was concluded to provide for the proper conservation of Whale stocks. The Convention was signed on behalf of the Union Government by Harry Thomson Andrews but requires ratification and the Ministers believe that such ratification would be in the interests of the Union Government.
