GG 310 5/1 1 folder, 3 pages. Letter from the Prime Minister’s Office to the Governor-General stating that an enquiry has been received from the Customs Authorities from Mr. H. Schechter, of Cape Town, as to whether there are any fishing and sealing restrictions with respect to Prince Edward, Marion, Crozets, Hog, Heard and Gough Islands, 18.6.1919. Telegram from the Governor-General to the Secretary of State, enquiring on behalf of Mr. Schechter whether there are any restrictions in respect of fishing and sealing in the vicinity of and prospecting on, Prince Edward, Marion, Crozets, Hog, Heard and Gough Islands. Adds that Schechter will defray cost of reply by telegraph, 25.7.19. Despatch from the Acting Secretary to the Governor-General to the Prime Minister, informing him that the cost of the cablegram sent to the Secretary of State for the Colonies with regard to Mr. Schechter’s enquiry was £2.7.6. and requesting that the amount be paid to the Treasury, 31.7.19.
