Hunted seals

Abstract

Antarctic seals were hunted on the way down South to the base, as they were deemed to be a good source of meat. These seals were often hunted from on board the ship. A great number were caught, frozen and taken to the base. This meat was then fed to the dogs that pulled the sleds.
