Abstract

Tristan Islanders at a blubber fire while camping on Sealers Beach while helping Allan Crawford with surveying Marion Island and to the left Kildalkey. In order not to waste time walking great distances, it was decided to establish a survey base in sealers cove on the southeast cost. In order to keep warm at night a blubber fire was kept burning in the mouth of the cave.
