Abstract:
A Cape Times article (17 January 1995) reporting that the SAS Outeniqua might be diverted to assist in rescuing about 100 Russian scientists and technicians stranded in Antarctica after their supply vessel, the Akademik Fedorov, was arrested in Cape Town. This material is part of a collection contributed by Mustakim Gierdien, that he used for writing his book “ From district Six to Antarctica”, published September 2025 by ALSA.
