Annex IV to the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty (Madrid Protocol, 1991): Prevention of Marine Pollution

Abstract

This document forms part of the framework established under the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty (Madrid Protocol, 1991), which designates Antarctica as a natural reserve devoted to peace and science. There are a total of six annexes to the Protocol; this is Annex IV. It establishes measures to prevent marine pollution in the Antarctic Treaty area.
