dc.description.abstract This document outlines a proposal by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) to enhance and expand atmospheric and meteorological monitoring in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean during the International Polar Year (IPY) 2007–2008. The project, called SAGAWOBS, aims to establish long-term environmental monitoring at the SANAE IV Antarctic base and on the research vessel SA Agulhas. en_ZA
