Standing crop and above-ground standing biomass increases during the growth season are provided for the three plant communities on Marion Island (sub-Antarctic). The values support previous observations that low-altitude sub-Antarctic vegetations accumulate large quantities of aboveground plant matter and that they are more productive than most northern hemisphere tundra vegetations. |
