abstract
Detailed petrologic and geochemical studies of lavas from the vicinity of the Bouvet triple junction indicate that the lavas show a wide range in compositional differentiation extending from Mg-rich plorite basalts to Fe-Ti rich ferrobasalts. Furthermore, in addition to normal geochemically 慸epleted mid-ocean ridge basalt (MORB), geochemically 慹nriched MORB occurs in abundance throughout the region but is absent to the east of 15癊.
