Abstract:
An article from The Argus (12 January 1995) reporting on the departure of SAS Outeniqua for Antarctica. The month-long voyage included installing two unmanned weather stations in South Africa’s forecasting range and releasing four weather buoys as part of an international South Atlantic programme. This material is part of a collection contributed by Mustakim Gierdien, that he used for writing his book “ From district Six to Antarctica”, published September 2025 by ALSA.
