dc.description.abstract This Afrikaans article titled ''Ondersoek kom ná diesel op Marion-eiland gestort word" (Investigation comes after diesel spilled on Marion Island) reports on a 2023 diesel spill that occurred during fuel transfer operations on Marion Island. The article highlights environmental concerns about the potential impact on the island’s bird and marine life, while the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment states the spill was limited to land and involved only about 10 liters of diesel. An investigation is underway.
