Abstract:
This article describes the design, construction, and features of the SA Agulhas II, South Africa’s modern polar supply and research vessel. Built by STX Finland and delivered in April 2012, the ship replaced the original SA Agulhas and plays a key role in supporting the South African National Antarctic Programme (SANAP).
