Abstract:
The Antarctic Legacy Project is a South African initiative aimed at preserving and providing online access to over six decades of the country’s involvement in Antarctica. Funded by the Department of Science and Technology through the National Research Foundation, the project involves digitising more than 100,000 pages of records from individuals involved in the South African National Antarctic Programme (SANAP). The database offers unique insights into scientific, logistical, and personal experiences in Antarctica, Marion Island, and Gough Island. It also supports academic research across disciplines.
