This article from Die Burger reports on the SA Agulhas II’s challenging rescue operation near Gough Island in the South Atlantic Ocean. The mission aimed to retrieve 51 stranded crew members of the Geo Searcher, a fishing vessel that sank after reportedly striking rocks. Adverse weather conditions hindered the rescue efforts, necessitating the use of the ship’s two helicopters for crew transfers. |
