Letter from the Secretary of state for Colonies to Prince Arthur of Connaught (Governor-General), informing the latter that a report in the Daily Mail (14.11.22) reported that an expedition consisting of 5 sealing steamers and a large oil tankard was about to leave Cape Town for Kerguelen for the purpose of hunting sea-elephants and requesting to be informed if this report is correct and if so whether it can be stated if sealing has taken place at the Prince Edward and Marion Islands, 29.11.1922. |
