Robinson & Goulding (Bank of Africa Chambers) to the Secretary for the Colonies, London, stating that Mr. A.E. Larsen (Manager, Union Whaling Company Ltd) requested that they enquire on his behalf whether the United Kingdom government would be prepared to grant to him, his agents or licensed assigns 1. a concession for sealing on the Crozet and Prince Edward Islands for a period of 5 years or more; 2. a site for the erection of a Whaling Station at Walfish Bay, 27.5.1911. Letter addressed to Messrs C.P. Robinson & Goulding acknowledging receipt of their letter mentioned above and stating that 1. the Crozet Islands are not British territory; 2. as regards Prince Edward Island, an exclusive licence has already been granted to Mr. T.R. Irvin; 3. any inquiries in respect of licences at Walfisch Bay should be addressed to the Government of the Union of South Africa, 21.6.11.
