Abstract:
The Telex communications system consisted of teletypewriters connected to a telephonic network to send and receive signals, which were then translated by the machine and delivered as a type-written message. Except for radio communications, this was the only type of communication available to team members on Gough, Marion and at SANAE until the early 1990's.
