dc.description.abstract Building of the "new" met office adjacent to the old radio room - north west corner of the base Bolug - kassies of caustic soda and aluminium chips in the foreground. These were used to produce hydrogen for the balloons when mixed with water. This system was replaced with the hydrogen generator commissioned during M34 en_ZA
